Help a Veteran Mother Fight to Keep Her Family Together

My name is Iris Ruiz, and I’m a single mother of three children, fighting to keep my son by my side. After proudly serving 14 years in the Army National Guard, I was recently separated after 9 years of active guard duty and lost my job. Now, on top of these challenges, I’m facing a legal battle that threatens to tear my family apart.

A lawsuit has been filed for sole legal and physical custody, along with child support. I’ve always done my best to provide a safe, loving home for my children.

I’m at risk of losing custody of my child due to this law suit. This request for sole custody I feel is not only unjust but devastating for our family. My children have a close bond with each other, especially my oldest daughter, and I can’t imagine separating them.

I’m at a breaking point, lost and unsure of what to do. I’m in desperate need of legal guidance and I simply don’t have the funds for a retainer fee upfront at the moment.

I’m working hard to get back on my feet with a job lined up, but I urgently need legal representation to ensure my children and I aren’t separated. Without a lawyer, I’m terrified of losing this fight.
