We are fundraising for our friend, Tami Starlight, who is a Cree & Norwegian, Two Spirit trans woman and a longtime community organizer in the DTES. She is in need of urgent dental care, the cost of which is beyond her means as someone who is low-income and disabled.
The overall estimate for the urgent dental work is $14,003. Thankfully, insurance will cover at least half of the cost, leaving the remaining total to fundraise: $6,537. We have rounded up the fundraising goal to $7,000 to account for GFM fees and unexpected costs.
