I'm nea, a trans woman who is currently attempting to regain financial dependence.

Over the last 16 months, I have found myself jobless, due to redundancy, recovering from and experience abuse, including financial abuse, familial grief, as well as finding myself transitioning in a genuinely scary climate towards trans people. In this period I've lost over 2 stone, partly due to not being able to afford to feed myself properly. I've spent a lot of time over the last year, pushing through, various emergencies, and events, much of which for my own privacy, healing and safety will remain anonymous.

Ultimately, every time I've worked myself back up to working, both looking for, and freelancing, I've found I have been hit by another little emergency. From familial medical issues to housing instability or just the impact of surviving the abuse I have.

But I've done a lot to get by, and I am proud of myself. Proud enough to allow myself to ask for help like this. I'm a massive fan of mutual aid, but even putting out something like this is incredibly hard.

The money from this gofundme, will primarily go into food, rent, utilities, clothes(as I do not have a great deal) and into my transition. I've been hanging in here a while, so even a tiny bit does help. I'm in my 30s so having to start again and accept the shifts in my life has been incredibly hard, being able to not worry about housing stability, or where I'm going to get my next meal from will be an enormous weight lifted.
