Help a sweet dog see again

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Mike Patten. This is Freddie. He is the sweetest most loving dog anyone could ever ask for. He is just one of the many reasons I'm still alive today, and for that, means the world to me. He's a mamas boy and LOVES his "mother" my wife Leslie. We often joke that "ain't no sunshine when she's gone" song plays every time she leaves. If you listen to the words, it's classic Freddie, lol. He's been with us through everything and is apart of our family. He's getting older and has developed K9 diabetes. He gets daily insulin shots and is on special food and it is well managed. He has recently started going blind. We notice white cloudiness in his eyes. We took him to our vet who said he was developing cataracts. He referred us to a K9 opthomologist. As we waited for the appointment blindness set in fast. Less than four weeks and he's 95% blind. They say it is like looking through sheets of wax paper. He has been very depressed because he wants to play but can not see. He often wakes without knowing where he is and has fallen off the bed many times. He's starting to learn but still walks into the wall or door occasionally.  They eye surgeon said he's very healthy and has lots of life left. However if the cataracts are not treated in a timely manner they begin to increase pressure in the eyes to the point of extreme pain and eye damage beyond surgery. That is when they recommend removing the eyes or euthanasia. Which for us is out of the question. He needs surgery, and fast. The rear of his eyes are still intact so he should have 95-98% of his vision returned upon waking from surgery. The whole operation costs just over $6000! BOOM! Bomb drop!  That includes all pre-op visits, tests, medicine, anesthesia, the actual operation, and ALL after care, all post-op visits and medications. We are really stuck here. Just having spent $5500 on Jacks new braces. This is an unexpected expense that came on very quickly. That we just do not have the money for. Because time is of the essence, I have no time to save the money either. Surgery will be with the next two weeks. If anyone really knows me, they know I would much rather help people than ask for money. I have tears in my eyes as I write this because he is so important to us and I absolutely loathe asking anyone for anything.  ANY donation will be greatly appreciated beyond what words can say. You have the option of an anonymous donation as well as a public one just listing your name. I thank everyone in advance for any donations made. Or for even taking the time to read this.
Thank you! Leslie, Mike, Jack, Bomber, and Freddie Patten
