A student in my class and his family have been through a lot recently. The family, a single mom with three children, faced a difficult housing situation that left them without a stable place to live for a while. Out of respect for their privacy, I won’t share all the details, but I can say that they have shown incredible strength and resilience through it all. 
 
 
 The mom is a full-time working mother who has shown strength in a hard time and has worked extremely hard over the last few months to find a secure housing arrangement for her family. Now that they have finally found a place, she doesn’t want to lose it simply because they don’t have enough money for the down payment and essentials. She is doing everything she can for her kids, but right now, they need a little extra help from the community. 
 
 
 This is a unique situation, and I want to share that the mother did not ask for help or request a GoFundMe. Given what they’re facing, I decided to take it upon myself to do this for them, because I care deeply about their well-being and want to support them in any way I can.
