Help A Single Working Mom of Three after Fire Loss

On February 16th just after 4pm, Yesenia settled her children in from school and started their normal routine of an after school snack and homework. In mere seconds, a giant grease fire blew up in the kitchen and with complete terror, Yesenia grabbed her children and escaped the flames with nothing but the clothes on their backs while frantically dialing 911.
Yesenia is a single mom with three children ages 5, 8 and 11. She works tirelessly at our local Italian restaurant Randazzo's and loves being a restaurateur, despite the enormous challenges she faces. After a major decrease in revenue due to the pandemic, Yesenia faced a choice of paying the rent and putting food on the table or paying for insurance. Yesenia made the hard choice to forgo insurance.
Key Biscayne Fire and Police Departments responded to the 911 call immediately, and we are incredibly thankful to our local police officers and firefighters who were able to put the fire out immediately without causing any further damage to other apartments on Ocean Lane Drive. The building's sprinklers mixed with the flame retardant white powder that is released in a fire have caused irreversible damage to everything in Yesenia's home.
Yesenia has been an outstanding member of the Key Biscayne community and has never stopped working to provide for her family and those around her. She regularly donates her time and efforts to St. Agnes Academy, The Key Biscayne K-8 center Public School (Wellness in the schools) WITS Program, and many other local and statewide organizations. Faced with the possibility of closing her restaurant, Yesenia worked harder, longer hours and made vital adjustments to keep the restaurant open even during The COVID-19 Pandemic.
I’ve set a very modest goal to start as I can’t even begin to imagine the exact costs she has ahead of her. We all receive the Key Biscayne Alerts via text message and immediately worry that the alert involves one of our friends or family members. This time, although the alert thankfully did not involve your family member, it did involve our neighbor Yesenia and her young family. Let's please use the means we have to help our neighbor during this tragic time in her family's life. I appreciate your time and your ability to help an outstanding member of our community in this time of dire need.
Every single cent that is raised will go directly to Yesenia and her three children for moving and total replacement expenses. There is no minimum contribution and every dollar is very much appreciated.
