Help keep a single mom from losing her house!

Hi! I'm Cody, a self-employed single mom of two kids - my oldest is 17, and my youngest is 6! I have been working hard since 2017 to build my credit & save enough for a downpayment, which I finally did - then the market skyrocketed, putting me back at square one! We are currently renting our dream home, and had hoped to be able to owner finance, but now my dreams have been dashed, because my landlord almost doubled the price of the house since we moved in and wants to sell as soon as my lease expires. I really hope not to be displaced with my two kids, so I started this fundraiser to raise funds to help with the down payment so I can purchase this house before my lease is up.

I knew this was my Forever Home the second I pulled into the driveway with my two kids. Over the last two and a half years, I have fallen even more in love with this house! My kids love it here and say they never want to move. It's honestly our dream home!

Unfortunately, due to soaring home prices, my landlord is asking for almost $400,000 and around $80,000 upfront as a down payment. This price change came as a crushing blow to me because I am already working 10-12 hours a day, six days a week & working as a nanny in my off hours - I cannot work longer or harder than I already am to try to make that impossible amount of money in a short time. My goal is to make enough of a down payment through crowd funding to qualify for a traditional home loan to purchase this beautiful home.

If I can't make the down payment before September of 2023, I will be forced to find another house, which is a scary thought because it took *2 years* of searching daily and turning in applications to find THIS house we could afford to rent, which allowed pets and had room for me to have a studio to run my business out of.

And that is why I am here today, asking for help to not lose our home and to help keep my children housed in a space they feel safe and happy in. 100% of all proceeds raised will go towards the down payment & purchase of my dream home!
