Help A Queer Immigrant of Color Stay in the US

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Comrades,

As many of you know the Trump administration is doing everything in it's power to deport immigrants from the United States, up to and including folks who are here legally.  The purpose of this fundraiser is to help one of those people.

A friend who is a queer immigrant of color is currently raising funds to find and retain a lawyer who will help them secure lawful immigration papers and everything else they need to have in order to keep them here.  This person is an international student studying here in Madison.  As the current administration is constantly changing and manipulating laws, rules, and regulations it's become increasingly difficult for immigrants and allies to keep up with what the current requirements are.  Because of this they need to secure a lawyer in the next week.  The total amount they need is $4,700 ($1700 for application fee and work authorization and $2500, $500 for medical and $2500 for a lawyer), an amount they currently cannot pay on their own because of limited legal ability to work right now.

If folks could donate and/or share this fundraiser this person (and us, their friends) would be eternally grateful.  Let's all do our part to support them and all those who are a part of our immigrant communities.  Together and united we can get the job done!
