Help a Music Student in Need
Donation protected
Hey, everyone!
My name is Dakota Parnell. I am 22 years old and am currently studying at Brandon University in Brandon Manitoba. I am a trombone player and ended up switching from tenor to bass trombone (Yes, there is a difference!) last year. On bass trombone, I've performed with the National Youth Band of Canada, the Dennis Wick Canadian Wind Orchestra, and the Manitoba Trombone Collective. Playing bass trombone has also given me the opportunity to collaborate with musicians like Al Kay, Larry Knopp, and many others. I've also played in several cities across Canada, as well as Las Vegas, and Cuba. I'm going into my final year of my performance degree and have been fortunate enough to be using my school's bass trombone for all my performances and auditions. It's a wonderful horn but unfortunately, once I graduate I will no longer have access to that trombone. I intend to pursue a masters degree in bass trombone which would be very difficult to do without a horn of my own. My hope is to receive some financial help from you wonderful people! As a student money can be hard to come by at the best of times, and getting enough funds to buy a bass trombone as well as simply having money to pay rent is quite the challenge. The instrument I'm hoping to get (an Edwards B454E Bass trombone for those who are wondering) costs approximately 5750$ US. I don't expect to reach my goal and have the full price covered by this project but I'll take all the help I can get. Any amount donated would be extremely appreciated and you would be contributing to furthering the career of a hopeful, and young musician! Thank you for your time!
