Help a Mom with Transverse Myelitis





Carrie is the mother of 4 and a loving wife. In September 2014 she suddenly lost the use of her legs. She is still unable to walk.

Imagine waking up one day and not being able to walk ... Imagine going for therapy on & off for almost 4 years ... starting to make progress then everything changes. Because of a change in benefits thru her spouses work my good friend, Carrie, may lose out on very important Therapy ... I'm hoping to raise some money to help my friend make sure she gets her therapy so she can one day walk again.

Today, marks the day when my mom first got sick and went through things that no one should have to. All I can say about my mom is that she is one tough person. She is the strongest, kindest, and most loving mom that anyone could ask for. I look up to my mom. Transverse Myelitis really hits hard and you don't know how hard it hits until someone you really love is affected by it because then not just that person is affected everyone else is too. My mom lost her ability to walk over 3 years ago and her reality has been spending those 3 years in a wheelchair. My mom and my family have been through so much... And, I'm so entirely grateful for the amount of love and support from the people around me. Through all of these ups and downs.. all of this fighting.. arguing.. all of the frustration... and many struggles my only hope is that one day my mom will be given the opportunity to walk again. I hope that her physio can hopefully start giving us results soon but for right now I am leaving her opportunity to walk again for the universe to decide and hoping for a miracle. Momma I love you so much. You're my number one. And, overall I think we have grown stronger as a family, despite the bad I believe things happen for a reason... She has her bad days but my mom's a fighter and she always manages to pull through. I believe that one day soon enough you will be able to walk!
