My name is Chris Clark, and I am proud to support a remarkable local educator, Krista Andrizzi-Larsen. Krista is a 26-year veteran science teacher in the Central Valley School District, where she has inspired thousands of students through her classes in AP Environmental Science, Earth & Environmental Science, and Physical Science.

In February 2026, Krista will join a select team of researchers on a scientific expedition to Antarctica. This rare and prestigious opportunity will focus on the impacts of climate change in one of the fastest-changing ecosystems on Earth, involving hands-on research in glaciology, oceanography, atmospheric science, and geology.

This journey is the next chapter in Krista’s lifelong commitment to science and education. She has:
• Brought NASA programming into schools, including live Q&As with astronauts.
• Served as an instructor with the Washington Aerospace Scholars Program.
• Advised student-led initiatives such as the Green Team and Community Garden.
• Served three years on the board of The Lands Council, advocating for environmental education and sustainability.
• Presented at the Governor’s Women in STEM Symposium at Gonzaga University.
• Brought students into leadership roles on the Liberty Lake Climate Policy Advisory Team, ensuring youth voices shape the city’s Comprehensive Climate Plan for the next 40 years.

This expedition will not only contribute to global climate research, but will also directly benefit students and communities in the Pacific Northwest. Krista plans to bring back new curriculum, share photos and research updates, and present her experiences to schools and community groups—turning climate science into real stories that inspire awareness and action.

Because of significant declines in public science funding, this expedition is entirely self-funded, and Krista must raise $19,000 to participate. Any funds raised beyond her expenses will go toward supporting other scientists and educators on this critical mission.

I believe deeply in Krista’s work, and I’m asking for your help. Together, we can send her to Antarctica and bring the lessons of this expedition home to our students, our community, and our future generations.

Thank you so much for your support.
