Help A Kinship Foster Family Stay Together!

Dear friends and community members,

I am reaching out to ask for your help in securing a new home for my family of seven. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of kinship fostering my great niece (age 6) and nephew (age 3), and through the challenges, I’ve worked hard to provide them with a safe and stable home.

Recently, I learned that the owner of our current home is selling the property, and we now face the difficult task of finding a new place. The new home needs to be large enough to meet the foster care requirements. Unfortunately, the required deposit of $8,000 has made this situation even more challenging for me. Currently I need $4,150, please help me keep my family together.

I am humbly asking for assistance with the deposit to secure a beautiful five-bedroom home that meets the foster care standards.

I am grateful to have a stable job that allows me to cover our monthly rent and bills. However, over the past two years, I’ve had to pause my career to care for my niece and nephew, who require a lot of support and services. Now, the only hurdle left is the large deposit.

Time is critical as I have until the end of this month to secure a new home, or I will lose my niece and nephew, who mean the world to me.

My nephew, diagnosed with mild to moderate autism, has made great strides in the last six months in his language and social-emotional skills. The thought of disrupting his progress is heartbreaking. He has already had multiple placements, and I want to avoid any more trauma for him.

My niece, too, has endured much already.. I am her fifth placement, and another disruption would only add more pain and more trauma to her life. She’s been diagnosed with PTSD. So it’s important that she feels safe. And that’s at home with her family.

Your support in helping us secure a home would provide stability for my niece, nephew, and the other children in our care. It would truly mean the world to us.
