Help a homeless mom & 9yr old son relocate

Hi, my name is Helena. I am a solo parent to an amazing 9 year old little boy. In March we became homeless and have been struggling to find stability since then. We have gotten by with grace of some amazing friends and for the last six months we have been taken in by many of my amazing friends but the constant moving has been very hard on my son and it devastates me to see the pain and anxiety that this situation has caused him. We have an opportunity to move to Richmond and stay with a friend long term until we get on our feet. This move would allow us to live in a aneighborhood where my son can once again ride his bike and make friends and allow me to have the support of a friend who understands my struggles.

I wish I could pack up and leave tonight, but I have several challenges, first two weeks ago my car caught fire leaving me without transportation. I had been earning money to support me and my son by cleaning houses, which I was no longer able to do without transportation. The funds I did have went towards my current living situation, which has turned toxic. I rejected advances from my roommate and set cleat boundaries and he has become increasingly hostile towards me. He started making arbitrary demands like insisting I wasn't allowed to cook after 8pm (I like to bake in the evenings after my son has gone to sleep). I want to clarify that my cooking in no way disturbs him, he cannot hear any noise from the kitchen in his bedroom. Last night he went into the kitchen around 11pm and saw I had spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove. I was standing next to the sink and he picked up one of the pots of boiling hot sauce and flung it into the sink, splattering it all over the walls and on me, then he punched the wall and started screaming, my son immediately began crying and was terrified. We need to get out of here quickly. Tonight when I refused to leave he called the police and when they let him know that he could not demand I leave with 24 hours notice he has retaliated by turning off the electricity to the upstairs of the house, which includes the kitchen putting all our food at risk of spoiling and leaving me unable to cook dinner. He has also turned off the hot water heater and is blasting music in his room.

The final complication is everything we own is in a storage unit that I am on the verge of losing because I cannot afford the rent on it.

The money I am requesting would cover the payment on the storage unit of 466, A U-haul rental which will cost between 280-320 plus gas, which I estimate will cost at least 200. It would also cover other travel expenses such as meals, tolls, etc. and potentially a night or two in a hotel while I sort out my affairs here.

Any funds remaining will be put toward living expenses upon my arrival while I secure employment and if by some miracle I can find a super cheap car that runs, I would put any extra funds towards that.
