I'm a junior in high school and have been offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to attend the Rice University Aerospace Academy this summer. Rice University is ranked in the top 30 for undergraduate engineering programs in the US. Rice sent me a letter inviting me to attend the camp this summer, however, the price for the camp is approximately $8,000 with airline tickets and transportation to and from the airport. 

 

During my high school career I’ve become more and more sure that I want to be an aerospace engineer. I have been on the High school’s FIRST robotics team and have been working in multiple positions on the team. I’ve always aspired to advance my abilities and push myself. When I received the letter I was being offered a spot in the Aerospace Academy, I was overwhelmed with excitement. This camp would give me an opportunity to learn more about aerospace and all the aspects of the job, as well as, give me an opportunity to connect with professionals in my field of interest. This opportunity means a great deal to me. Despite not having the funds, I haven’t given up hope. Any donations is a huge help to me. And will get me closer to the camp of my dreams.
