Help a Family Recover from Accident of Father
A 30-year-old father of three was killed after crashing his bike around 8:50 p.m. on Friday, May 7th 2021 in the area of Rupert Street and 17th Avenue in East Vancouver. He leaves behind a desperate wife and three young children - two daughters aged 6 and 5, and a 3-year-old son. The wife is a stay-at-home mom, and suffers from depression. The father was the breadwinner of the family and future income for the family is bleak as the mother may not be able to return to work for quite some time due to this heartbreaking tragedy.
This GoFundMe is made with the permission and on behalf of the mother Ella Mo and all donations will be sent directly to her bank account after withdrawal in order to support the family, especially the needs of the three young children. Local donations in the form of food, clothing and toys will also be arranged by her friends and/or volunteers at different locations. The family asks for privacy as they mourn the father's death.
Vancouver Police initially said that “a vehicle collided with the bike" but have now updated their statement as they are investigating "whether the cyclist and vehicle actually made contact," which may significantly affect the compensation for the family. So far, the family has only received $1,400 donation from SUCCESS, a local immigration and social service organization, which would barely be enough to cover one month's rent.
