Ever since I was young, I have always been searching for a purpose in my life. I had tried sports, drawing, dancing, singing etc. I fell in love with theatre when I was eight years old and watched Matilda on Broadway. I loved the way the actors interacted with the audience as well as the magical aspects of it and how everyone gave their performance their all to keep the magic of art alive. The most captivating part of the show was when we are first introduced to the villain of the show, Mrs. Trunchbull. When the actor came out, I noticed that this female character was being played by a man, which threw little me for a loop. This was when I realized that art has no limits and it is a perception of one’s own mind. When I was in ninth grade, I auditioned for my first play. Ever since then, my love for acting has flourished. I love being able to make people laugh and cry and think about the world from a new perspective. I have been inspired by so many brilliant actors and artists, and I hope that one day someone may be inspired by my art.

Through my two years at the Hartt School, I have learned so much about myself and what I want to do for the rest of my life. One way to be able to improve my skills is to partake in a once in a lifetime theatre intensive training in London. I have been working 7 days a week, at two jobs, for the past two months to try to earn enough money to go on this trip of a lifetime. I will still need to make more money to afford it after the summer ends.
