I am reaching out with a heart full of hope and a deep sense of urgency to share my story and

ask for your help. My name is Ray-vion Patterson I am 19 years old, and I am a second year college student from Cleveland, Ohio, currently pursuing an aviation career at Bowling Green

State University. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a pilot, and I’ve worked tirelessly to get to where I am today.But right now, that dream is at risk, and I need your help to keep it alive.

I’ve dedicated myself to my studies, maintaining a 3.4 GPA while juggling multiple challenges.

I’ve applied for hundreds of scholarships, hoping to secure the financial support I need to

continue my education, but despite my best efforts, I’ve only received rejection after rejection,

each one feeling like a door closing in my face. I haven’t given up though I know that every “no”

is just one step closer to a “yes.”

But the reality is, I’m running out of time and options.

Before entering Bowling Green, I was promised that I would only need to cover room and board

which I could manage with some financial help. But once I got there, I was hit with unexpected,

overwhelming aviation program fees that I never anticipated. The cost of flight hours,

specialized equipment, and other program-specific fees quickly became unpayable. Now,

despite my passion, my hard work, and my determination, I’m at a crossroads. Without financial support, I will have to abandon my dream of becoming a pilot.

To make matters even more difficult, I’m not just a student; I’m also a son to a single mother

who has been battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS). My mother, who has always been my rock and

inspiration, is unable to work as much due to her illness. She’s given everything she can to support me, but the burden of my college bills on top of providing for my siblings is something

she can’t carry on her own. I want to be there for her in the way she’s always been there for me but right now, I’m in desperate need of help to ensure I can continue my education and reach my goals.

This is where I am asking for your support. Every dollar raised in this campaign will go directly

toward covering my aviation program fees, and tuition so I can continue my education at

Bowling Green State University and one day achieve my dream of becoming a professional pilot.

This journey has not been easy. I’ve faced countless obstacles, rejections from scholarships,

unexpected fees, the emotional toll of seeing my mother struggle with her health but through it

all, I’ve never stopped fighting for my dream. And I’m not giving up now. I know that with the

right support, I can continue working toward my goal and eventually take flight as a pilot.

This is more than just about me, it's about the power of community, perseverance, and the belief

that we can achieve our dreams, no matter how difficult the path may seem. Your contribution
