<div>What started as a routine visit to the podiatrist turned into a life-altering medical crisis. A callus was shaved from my foot, which led to a severe infection. That infection spread quickly and resulted in three major surgeries — including ankle bone fusion — and the placement of a fixator device on my foot.

<div>Due to these complications, I’ve been unable to work for an extended period and am now in a rehabilitation center, learning how to walk again. The road to recovery has been painful and long, but I’m fighting every day to get back on my feet.

<div>While I’ve been focused on healing, our family has begun to fall behind on our mortgage and essential bills. My wife is working part-time while also in her final semester of nursing school — her last chance to become a nurse, something she’s worked incredibly hard for. I don’t want to be the reason she has to put her dream on hold.

<div>We’ve always worked hard and lived humbly, but right now, we’re in a situation where we need help.
