Help a 14 year old boy recover

Donation protected

To all my Facebook friends and family.
I don't usually do this, but a special family is in need of your help. This is about one of the most caring young boys who makes a difference to all he meets and everyone around him.

About 4 weeks ago Conner had a sinus infection, he went to the doctors twice and was told to take panadol and a decongestant. In the meantime his infection had other plans. It travelled in behind his eye and up into his brain and skull. Conner ended up having a huge seizure and was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital via ambulance. After numerous tests and scans it was here they diagnosed a severe infection. He then underwent a 7 hour operation to try and fix everything, however the swelling and pressure from his brain was too much, so they had to remove a section of his skull and are now preserving it to hopefully reattach at a later date (approx 12 weeks). He spent 8 days in an induced coma, where unfortunately the infection continued to grow. On Thursday the 22nd June he had to undergo more surgery to remove some of the infection that was situated right between both his brain hemispheres. This was an extremely risky procedure but doctors had exhausted all other options, and this was the only thing left to do. Conner is now off the ventilators but is still having a number of problems such as his cranial pressures being too high, an extremely low heart rate and a paralysis of his left side of body. Doctors have indicated that this will be a 6 month recovery for Conner and his family which may include intensive rehabilitation and speech therapy etc. His family have been by his side the entire time but need our help now.
We have now decided to start up a 'go fund me page' for Conner and his family. All funds raised will go towards things such as:-
- travel expenses getting to and from the hospital once his parents can no longer stay at the Ronald McDonald house
- parking costs while at the hospital
- loss of wages so they can still pay the bills at home
- food costings
We are currently waiting for further information on Conner's rehabilitation process and what his recovery will entail. If there are costings involved in this process then the funds raised will also go towards this lengthy rehabilitation.
Every cent helps
Thanks guys xoxo
