Donation protected
UPDATE:
Eryl’s Trial did not go well, 3 magistrates found Eryl Guilty if Permitting Clare to use her amplifier. The sentence is a Conditional Discharge Of 6 months which in itself is a light sentence. However the court ordered £900 costs to be paid by Eryl.
As a result of this we have increased the Crowd Funding target to include the £900 any help with this is greatly received.

We would like to say Massive Thank you to everyone that has supported us throughout this ordeal. The wonderful messages of support we received yesterday were amazing Thank you all so much.

We have had an eventful few months since the incident when we were busking in Newcastle on the 10th of November at 22.00hrs and we were approached by some members of the council, the events that unfolded that evening were unpleasant at best.

Following that incident, on the 23rd December 2018 We both received a summons each to Newcastle Magistrates Court.

Clare for playing a loudspeaker after 9pm

Eryl for ‘Permitting’ Clare to play a loudspeaker after 9pm.
These charges were brought under the Control Of Pollution Act 1974.

The court date was set for 10th January 2019. It was only at the start of January that we were able to make contact with a solicitor that was able to help. The Court date was adjourned to the 31st January 2019.

The solicitor entered a plea of Guilty with lots of mitigation for Clare. The Magistrates ruled an Absolute Discharge in Clare’s case.

The Solicitor entered a plea of Not Guilty for Eryl and we have instructed the solicitors to represent Eryl at trial on 4th April 2019.

Eryl’s trial is set for 4th April 2019 where she will defend herself against the charge of ‘Permitting the use of a loudspeaker in a Street after 9pm’ brought by Newcastle City Council.

To defend Eryl’s case is going to cost £1000 in legal fees to be paid before the trial on 4th April 2019.

So far we have incurred legal costs of £420
In legal fees and £85 Court Costs

We have put this go fund me together to try and cover the costs of our legal fees.
Any funds raised above the amount needed for legal fees or court costs will be donated directly to Keep Streets Live.

We are looking to raise £1505.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported us.
