<div>Hello, we are the neighbours of Cois na Bearu estate in Graiguenamanagh and we have set up this fundraiser to help our beloved neighbour Natalia and her 7 year old son Anthony, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour last week.

<div>Last Tuesday, on St. Patrick's Day, little Anthony woke up with a headache. Within hours, the pain had become so severe that his mum Natalia rushed him to the out-of-hours GP, who immediately referred them to the hospital in Dublin for further investigation. There, they received the worst news you can imagine as a parent: Anthony was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

<div>The tumour was located in Anthony's fourth ventricle — a deep, fluid-filled space at the base of the brain, close to the brain stem. It is one of the most delicate and complex areas of the brain to operate on. Last Tuesday, 24 March, Anthony underwent surgery, and we are relieved and grateful to share that it went well.

<div>But this is only the beginning of a long road. The family are now waiting on biopsy results — due on Monday — which will tell them what type of tumour it was and what treatment Anthony will need next. Fourth ventricle tumours in children often require follow-up treatment such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy, and the months ahead are likely to involve many more hospital visits, specialist appointments, and extended time away from normal life.

<div>Natalia is a single mum who raises Anthony and his 5 year old sister Amelia on her own. They moved to Graiguenamanagh only last year and have quickly built a life here. Anthony and Amelia love playing outside, creating chalk drawings on the street, trampolining, and playing with the other children in the estate. Anthony is a huge fan of space and rockets and can also be found playing Minecraft and Roblox.

<div>In the weeks and months ahead, Natalia will need to take extended time off work to care for Anthony through what will be a long and difficult recovery. This fundraiser has been set up by people who know and love this family — neighbours, friends, and members of our community — to help ease the financial pressure during an unimaginably hard time. It means an extra meal on the table, paying the bills, buying any equipment he might need, and toys and outings to keep Anthony and Amelia happy and entertained. It means Natalia can focus on what's really important: loving and looking after her children during this incredibly difficult time without having to worry about how to make ends meet.
