Help 4x Cancer Warrior Survivor

Have you ever spoken to Julie Negrin? Cooked her recipes  ? Enjoyed her free food education content and mental health tools ? Watched her activism on behalf of the Affordable Care Act ? This woman is a powerhouse. Passionate, thoughtful, insightful, quick-witted, and eloquent, Julie has a well-informed and empathetic point of view on today’s most pressing societal issues from healthcare to gender politics to ableism.

Heartbreakingly, instead of pursuing her passions and further enlightening the world about issues that matter to us all, Julie is spending most of her time keeping herself alive. After multiple surgeries to remove melanoma in 2011, in March 2014 Julie was hit with more unrelated cancers (colon, endometrial, and ovarian). Ensuring that Julie lives for at least a few more years is going to require your help.

Julie not only lost her beloved career teaching adults and children nutrition and cooking, but also her independence. In 2016, when she could barely get out of bed and go to work she moved in with her parents. She and her dad Marv, had the same genetic condition would coach each other and share nutrition tips. Sadly, he passed away in 2019 from lung cancer. So Julie is grieving her dad who not only was her Lynch hero, dad and roommate, but also the person who financially supported her.

Financially, Julie is struggling. Her physical disability takes up too much time to work in a traditional full-time job.  Because her medical case is so unusual and complicated, most of her medical treatment and nutrition supplements are out-of-pocket and now she's looking for new housing and a caregiver. She is becoming increasingly physically and mentally fragile and extremely anxious about so much instability in an uncertain life.

Julie wants to spend whatever time she has left sharing her decades of nutrition knowledge and cancer prevention advice—she has so much to share with others facing medical issues—but is so tired from doing her own caregiving, she hasn’t had energy to organize her content. With your help, she can leave behind a legacy of helping people heal. Please consider donating anything, even if it feels small to you. Every donation makes a financial and psychological difference.
