Thank you for taking the time to read this but first let us introduce ourselves.
We are three college students from Western New York. Our names are John Duffy, Patrick McCormack and Mike Rickicki and our plan is to travel to North Carolina and help with Hurricane Relief.
We are three motivated individuals with the will power, mindset and tempo to get results. WE just need YOU to help us.
Long story short, we have a midterm break coming up from October 5-9.
After hearing about the severe flooding and damage done to the Carolinas after Hurricane Florence we decided that we had to get down there and help out in any way possible.
Our current plan is to drive down to the New Bern, North Carolina area the morning of Friday the 5th. This is one of the areas that experienced the worst flooding and is in need of supplies and man power. There are several different drop off locations that we plan to evenly distribute our supplies to.
According to Gov. Roy Cooper there are currently over 15,000 families without homes in North Carolina alone. THESE PEOPLE NEED OUR HELP.
Now onto the MONEY: due to the fact that we are college kids on a budget we need all the help we can get. The $2,500 that we are asking for would mainly go towards non-perishable food items and water. We have a Chevy Silverado with a covered bed that can fit plenty and we would be ecstatic if we could fill it and hand out all the supplies.
Supplies will consist of the following:
Toiletries, toilet paper, paper towels, infant formula, adult diapers, hand sanitizer, hygiene wipes, canned food/non-perishable food, water, tarps, solar lights, first aid kits, rain gear, adult clothes, cleaning supplies, Ziploc bags, air mattresses/cots, pillows, bags to carry items, and ice packs.
The rest of the money (around 200-300) would be used for gas to get there and back.
