Help 2 year old Amelia fight cancer.

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kyle and I am fundraising for my 2 year old niece, Amelia. On Thursday, December 8th, Amelia was her normal self, playing with her big sister Atli and having fun. The next morning, all that would change, as Amelia awoke with limited mobility of her right side. Realizing there was an issue her parents immediately took her to a local children’s hospital, but never expected the news that was to come.

Several tests and scans were performed, revealing Amelia was suffering from a brain tumor. The malignant tumor on her brain was the size of a lemon and putting pressure against her brain, causing mobility loss. She underwent several hours of complex brain surgery to remove the tumor located on the left side of her brain, which had entangled itself around the brain stem and optical nerve. Doctors were happy with the surgery results and optimistic that the tumor was fully removed. Amelia’s recovery process would play a vital role in her quality of life. Unfortunately, Amelia suffered a stroke during recovery, causing further brain damage, which inhibited her ability to speak, walk and move her right extremities.
After weeks of physical therapy at a local rehabilitation center, Amelia was able to return home and currently works on physical and occupational therapy at a nearby facility, as well as in home. Some of the main goals of this therapy are helping her re-gain the ability to walk and talk.

It is unclear how this tumor will ultimately affect Amelia long term. What we do know, is that unfortunately, it has grown since the initial surgery. A complete plan of treatment is still unknown as of now, but this is something that will require treatment and monitoring for many years. All of this comes with a hefty cost, both emotionally and financially.

Please keep Amelia in your prayers as she fights this cancer and works toward re-gaining mobility and speech. And, of course, anything you can do to help ease the financial burden of her medical expenses is greatly appreciated.
