 Our hearts are broken as we ask for your help for 16-year-old Mark Kurylenko, whose life changed in an instant after a devastating car accident.

 Mark was riding in the back seat of a car with a few of his friends. He was wearing his seatbelt, yet despite taking the proper safety precautions, he suffered catastrophic injuries.

 Mark sustained severe trauma to his body and face. He lost a large portion of tissue from his knee, suffered a fractured skull, severe facial injuries, a nearly detached nose, extensive damage to one of his ears that required surgeons to painstakingly reconstruct it from dozens of pieces, and a finger that was nearly amputated. He has already endured emergency surgeries, but this is only the beginning of his long journey to recovery.

 Mark now faces multiple reconstructive and plastic surgeries to restore his ear and nose. Unfortunately, these procedures are not fully covered. His family’s personal health insurance has already reached its coverage limit, and they have been told that further treatment cannot move forward without payment.

 Mark and his family came to the United States from Ukraine through the U4U (Uniting for Ukraine) humanitarian program, seeking safety and a better future. They never imagined they would be facing such a heartbreaking medical crisis so soon.

 The emotional, physical, and financial burden on this family is overwhelming. Every donation—no matter how small—will go directly toward Mark’s medical expenses, reconstructive surgeries, hospital bills, rehabilitation, and the care he needs to heal.

 Марк ехал на заднем сиденье автомобиля вместе с друзьями. Он был пристегнут ремнем безопасности, но, несмотря на это, получил тяжелейшие травмы.

 В результате аварии Марк получил серьезные повреждения головы, лица и тела. Он потерял большой участок тканей на колене, получил перелом черепа, тяжелые травмы лица, практически полностью был оторван нос, а одно ухо оказалось настолько сильно повреждено, что хирурги были вынуждены буквально собирать его по частям. Один из пальцев на руке едва удалось спасти. Марк уже перенес несколько экстренных операций, но это лишь начало его долгого пути к выздоровлению.

 Впереди его ждут сложные реконструктивные и пластические операции на носу и ухе, чтобы восстановить их внешний вид и функции. К сожалению, эти операции не покрываются полностью страховкой. Семья уже использовала весь лимит своей медицинской страховки, и сейчас врачи не могут продолжить необходимое лечение без оплаты.
