10 year old Gagik's brain surgery

Donation protected
In this photo is Gagik who is ten years old and lives in Armenia. He suffered from brain damage during his birth which caused his right side to be paralyzed. When he was only 40 days old, his parents had to constantly take him to the hospital because he suffered from strokes. The doctors explained that the damage to Gagik’s brain was so severe that is was possible he wouldn't survive. Fortunately, Gagik was strong and persevered. Thereafter, his parents had to face the possibility that Gagik would be paralyzed. The doctors didn’t have much hope that Gagik would ever talk, walk, or use his right hand. However, his parents never gave up and neither did Gagik. During the past 10 years, they
went through many hours of physiotherapy and logoped therapies. These therapies helped and Gagik was able to walk. He was capable of going to school and was doing well in his studies.
But recently, he has developed another health issue which doctors claim is a result of his brain damage. His legs have weakened and he has started to lose consciousness suddenly. This can happen any time throughout the day. Due to his condition, Gagik has  started to miss his classes at school and is no longer
able to go out to play with his friends. Even worse, doctors in Armenia cannot help him and they suggested a surgery that can only be done in Europe. Gagik’s
parents found the cheapest option was to have the surgery in Bulgaria. This surgery will cost $17,000.
I know Gagik and his parents from my childhood and I saw every effort they made to do everything for Gagik. They never asked for help from anyone, but now they are in the need of help since the cost of surgery is too expensive for their family.
Gagik’s mother and father both have jobs and can barely afford Gagik’s therapies. They rely on Gagik’s grandmother who takes care of Gagik while his parents work, but to make matters worse, doctors have recently found cancer on Gagik’s grandmother’s lungs. I know her and I know she always refuses any kind of treatment for herself since she wants every penny to be used for Gagik.
Please join me to help this family cover the expenses for Gagik’s surgery. Even a little contribution can be help.
