Helmys Letzte Party!
Als vor ein paar Monaten bei Helmy Krebs festgestellt wurde, haben wir so sehr gehofft, dass sie diesen Kampf noch gewinnen könnte. Und obwohl Helmy eine starke und ungewöhnliche Frau war und mehr von Taten als von langem Gerede hielt, hat sie diesen Kampf vor ein paar Tagen verloren.
Helmy war Mutter dreier Kinder, Oma zweier Enkel, Ur-Oma von fünf Ur-Enkeln und nicht zuletzt mit Gerhard seit 60 Jahren verheiratet.
Wir, ihre Familie, sind in der ganzen Welt verstreut und hatten nicht die Gelegenheit, uns von ihr zu verabschieden. Trauerfeiern im klassischen Sinne würden ihr sowieso nicht entsprechen und sie hätte es vermutlich auch nicht gemocht. So entstand die Idee, Familie und Freunde zusammen zu bringen (sobald es Covid-19 erlaubt), um sie und ihr Leben zu feiern. Mit Musik, die sie gemocht hätte, mit gutem Essen, viel Lachen und keinen oder nur wenigen Tränen.
Gerhard, ihr Mann und unser Vater und Großvater hat sie in den letzten Monaten wirklich aufopferungsvoll gepflegt und nach mehr als 60 Jahren mit Helmy fehlt ihm im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes die bessere Hälfte. Dies ist so schmerzhaft, dass er sich nicht vorstellen kann, in der Stadt zu bleiben in der die beiden zu zweit noch so viele Pläne hatten.
Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn Ihr uns unterstützen könntet, Helmy einen ihr würdigen Abschied zu bereiten und Gerhard den Start in einer neuen Stadt zu erleichtern. Wir bedanken uns herzlich im Voraus für jegliche Unterstützung!
Helmy`s Last Party!
When Helmy was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, we hoped so much she could win this fight. And although Helmy was a strong woman and was more for action than long talk, she lost that fight a few days ago.
Helmy was the Mom of three kids, Grandma of 2 grandkids and Great-Grandmother of 5 great-grandkids, and last but not least wife of Gerhard for more than 60 years.
We, her family, are scattered all over the world and haven't really had the chance to say goodbye to her. Funeral ceremonies in the classic sense wouldn't suit her anyway and she probably wouldn't have liked it either. So, the idea was born to bring family and friends together (as soon as Covid-19 allows) to celebrate her and her life. With music that she would have liked, with good food, lots of laughter, and little or no tears.
Gerhard, her husband, and our father and grandfather has cared for her very self-sacrificingly in the last few months and after more than 60 years with Helmy, he is literally missing the better half. This is so painful that he cannot imagine staying in the city where the two of them still had so many plans.
We would be very happy if you could support us to say goodbye to Helmy and to facilitate Gerhard's start in a new city. Thank you very much in advance for any support!
