<div>Vor einem Jahr hat meine kleine Schwester die Liebe ihres Lebens gefunden. Was mit einer Begegnung in Thailand begann, wurde zu einer Beziehung, die Tausende Kilometer Entfernung, Zeitverschiebungen und viele Tränen beim Abschied überstanden hat.

<div>Nun hat sie die Chance, im September nach Australien auszuwandern und dort den Mann zu heiraten, mit dem sie ihr Leben verbringen möchte. Eigentlich war die Hochzeit erst für nächstes Jahr geplant. Doch aufgrund von Visa- und Behördenvorgaben mussten die beiden ihre Pläne überraschend vorziehen. Statt vieler Monate Vorbereitungszeit bleiben nun nur wenige Wochen, um alles zu organisieren.

<div>Als ihre große Schwester freue ich mich unendlich für sie.

<div>Gleichzeitig fällt mir dieser Gedanke schwer.

<div>Sie zieht nicht in die Nachbarstadt. Sie zieht ans andere Ende der Welt.

<div>Die gemeinsamen Sonntage, spontane Besuche, Geburtstage und Familienfeiern werden nie wieder so selbstverständlich sein wie heute.

<div>Deshalb möchten wir diesen besonderen Moment gemeinsam erleben und sie auf ihrem Weg begleiten.

<div>Als Familie haben wir bereits alles zusammengelegt, was wir kurzfristig aufbringen konnten. Rund 5.000 € haben wir gemeinsam organisiert. Ich werde meiner Schwester sogar mein eigenes Hochzeitskleid schenken, damit wir weitere Kosten sparen können. Es bedeutet mir viel, dass sie ein Stück unserer Familie mit in ihr neues Leben nimmt.

<div>We never imagined we would find ourselves writing an appeal like this.

<div>Just over a year ago, our sister met the love of her life during a trip to Thailand. What started as a chance encounter quickly grew into a deep and meaningful relationship that has endured thousands of kilometres of distance, different time zones, and many emotional goodbyes.

<div>Now, their dream is finally becoming a reality.

<div>This September, she will move from Germany to Australia to marry the man she loves and begin building a life with him.

<div>Originally, the wedding was planned for next year. However, due to visa and administrative requirements, they have had to bring their plans forward unexpectedly. Instead of having many months to prepare, they now have only a few short weeks to organise everything.

<div>As her family, we are incredibly happy for her.

<div>At the same time, it is a very emotional moment for us.
</div>

<div>She isn't simply moving to another city or even another country nearby.

<div>She is moving to the other side of the world.
</div>

<div>The family dinners, birthdays, Christmas celebrations, spontaneous visits, and everyday moments we've shared for years will no longer be just around the corner.

<div>That's why it means so much to us to be able to support her and celebrate this important milestone together before she begins her new life in Australia.

<div>As a family, we have already contributed everything we could manage at short notice and have raised approximately €5,000 (around AUD $8,700) ourselves.

<div>To help reduce costs, our sister will even be wearing her older sister's wedding dress — a special way of carrying a piece of home and family with her into this next chapter of her life.
