Liebe GoFundMe Gemeinde,
liebe Leserinnen und Leser,
mein Name ist Melanie und ich richte dieses Konto für Leandro ein.
Leandro ist 15 Jahre alt und der Sohn von unseren Freunden Anastasios und Stephanie (Steffi) Papouloglou.
Im Alter von nur 13 Jahren bekam Leandro die schreckliche Diagnose, dass er Knochenkrebs hat, der Ewing-Sarkom genannt wird.
Ihr fragt euch, was ist ein Ewing-Sarkom? Das Ewing-Sarkom ist ein seltener bösartiger Tumor, der meist Knochen befällt.
Es ist die zweithäufigste Art von Knochenkrebs im Kindesalter. Jeder Knochen kann Ursprungsort sein, jedoch sind am häufigsten Becken und Oberschenkelknochen betroffen.
Bei Leandro ist das Becken betroffen. Eine schlechtere Stelle hätte sich der scheiss Krebs nicht aussuchen können. Denn diese ist inoperabel.
Es war im Sommer 2019 als Leandro über Beinschmerzen klagte. Man ging davon aus, dass er Wachstumsschübe hatte.
Doch die Schmerzen hörten nicht auf. Daraufhin rannten sie von einem Arzt zum anderen bis ihn ein Arzt direkt ins Krankenhaus schickte um ein MRT zu machen.
Dann, am 14.08.2019 die Schockdiagnose; Knochenkrebs. Es wurde eine Biopsie gemacht und der Ewing-Sarkom diagnostiziert. Eine Diagnose, die das Leben aller Beteiligten nicht nur änderte, sondern komplett umkrempelte.
Seitdem ist nichts mehr, wie es mal war…
Die Tortur mit 14 intensiven Chemos und Strahlentherapie über 7 Wochen hat begonnen. Monatelang musste er im Krankenhaus verbringen und alle wussten, es wird der Kampf seines Lebens sein! Bei dieser Art von Knochenkrebs darf es auch auf keinen Fall zu einem neuen Ausbruch kommen, da die Überlebenschancen nahe gegen Null sinken.
Die Chemotherapie hat Leandro im Dezember 2020 mit viel Leid und Kraft überstanden... leider erfolglos.
Beim letzten Kontrolltermin im Februar 2021 die schreckliche Nachricht.
Der Tumor ist zurück.
Steffi und Anastasios suchen zusammen mit der Uniklinik Heidelberg die weltweit mit anderen Kliniken vernetzt ist, nach Mitteln und Wegen, denn für diese Rezidiv Diagnose gibt es noch keine erfolgreiche Therapie.
Es ist die Suche, nach der Nadel im Heuhaufen und niemand weiß, wieviel Zeit Leandro noch bleibt. Diese Art von Krebs ist zu selten, daher ist es nicht möglich schnell an Ergebnisse zu gelangen, da die Forschung hier immer noch am Anfang steht.
Alternativ unterstützende Heilmittel, hilfreiche Medikamente und Nahrungsergänzungsmittel die es gibt, werden von der Krankenkasse leider nicht übernommen.
Jetzt geht es darum, Leandro die noch verbleibende Zeit so schmerzfrei wie möglich zu machen. Heute ist der 14.04.2021 und Leandro schläft seit 2 Monaten im Schneidersitz. Er geht in die Schonstellung, da er vor Schmerzen nicht liegen kann. Ohne THC wäre auch dies nicht möglich.
Er hat mittlerweile Pflegegrad 4 ist auf den Rollstuhl angewiesen und muss von seinen Eltern rund um die Uhr gepflegt werden.
Seit dem ersten Tag der Diagnose kümmern sich die beiden liebevoll um Leandro. Steffi hat seit diesem Tag nicht mehr arbeiten können. Im Februar 2021 sind 1 ½ Jahre rum und sie bekommt seitdem kein Krankengeld mehr. Rentenversicherung oder Arbeitsamt wollen nicht helfen.
Anastasios ist selbständig mit einem Friseursalon. Nicht nur die Diagnose, sondern auch Corona machten ihm einen Strich durch die Rechnung, Geld zu verdienen. Ein Kredit musste her um die laufenden Kosten zu bezahlen.
Philippa 12 Jahre, die kleine Schwester von Leandro, musste seitdem so viel zurückstecken. Seit März 2020 darf sie nicht in die Schule aus Angst, sie bringt das Virus mit nach Hause und könnte ihren geschwächten Bruder anstecken.
Sie darf keine Freunde treffen. Mama und Papa haben sehr wenig Zeit für sie. Die sozialen Kontakte sind durch Corona eh schon eingeschränkt aber bei Familie Papouloglou gibt es aus Sicherheitsgründen sowas erst gar nicht.
Aber Leandro will nicht aufgeben!!! Er hat ein Kämpferherz und vor allem Träume und Ziele, er möchte noch mal reisen, Auto fahren, die erste große Liebe finden, einfach mal Teenager sein… aber eigentlich auch nur gesundwerden. ❤❤❤
Das darf es einfach nicht gewesen sein! Das Leben hat doch noch gar nicht richtig angefangen…

Lasst uns gemeinsam dafür sorgen, dass Leandro und seine Familie, die restliche Zeit die Ihnen noch bleibt, zusammen verbringen kann. Lasst uns Leandros Wünsche erfüllen, solange es noch geht. Dadurch, dass Steffi und Anastasios zurzeit nicht arbeiten, weil sie für Leandro da sein möchten, hat sich die finanzielle Situation zunehmend verschlechtert.

Sie brauchen jemanden, der ihnen hilft das Gefühl der Hilflosigkeit, der Enttäuschung und des Leids, dass das Leben für sie bereithält zu überwinden, um nach vorne zu schauen, nach vorne zu schauen für Leandro, für Philippa und auch für sich selbst.

my name is Melanie and I am setting up this account for Leandro.
Leandro is 15 years old and the son of our friends Anastasios and Stephanie (Steffi) Papouloglou.
At only 13 years old, Leandro was given the terrible diagnosis of having bone cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma.
You ask yourselves, what is Ewing's sarcoma? Ewing sarcoma is a rare malignant tumor that mostly affects bone.
It is the second most common type of bone cancer in childhood. Any bone can be the site of origin, but the pelvis and femur are most commonly affected.
In Leandro's case, the pelvis is affected. The fucking cancer could not have chosen a worse site. Because this one is inoperable.
It was in the summer of 2019 when Leandro complained of leg pain. It was assumed that he had growth spurts.
But the pain did not stop. As a result, they ran from one doctor to another until one doctor sent him directly to the hospital to have an MRI.
Then, on 08/14/2019 the shock diagnosis; bone cancer. A biopsy was done and Ewing's Sarcoma was diagnosed. A diagnosis that not only changed everyone's lives, but completely turned them upside down.
Since then, nothing has been the same....
The ordeal with 14 intensive chemos and radiation therapy over 7 weeks has begun. For months he had to spend in the hospital and everyone knew it would be the fight of his life! With this type of bone cancer, there must also be no new outbreak under any circumstances, as the chances of survival are close to zero.
Leandro endured chemotherapy in December 2020 with much suffering and strength.... unfortunately unsuccessfully.
At the last control appointment in February 2021 the terrible news.
The tumor is back.
Steffi and Anastasios, together with the University Hospital of Heidelberg, which is networked with other hospitals worldwide, are looking for ways and means, because there is still no successful therapy for this recurrence diagnosis.
It is a search for a needle in a haystack and nobody knows how much time Leandro has left. This type of cancer is too rare, so it is not possible to get results quickly, because research here is still in its infancy.
Alternative supportive remedies, helpful medications and nutritional supplements that are available are unfortunately not covered by health insurance.
Now it is a matter of making the remaining time for Leandro as pain-free as possible. Today is 04/14/2021 and Leandro has been sleeping cross-legged for 2 months. Leandro goes into the gentle position because he cannot lie down due to pain. Without THC this would not be possible either.
He now has care level 4 is dependent on a wheelchair and must be cared for by his parents around the clock.
Since the first day of the diagnosis, the two of them have lovingly taken care of Leandro. Steffi has not been able to work since that day. In February 2021, 1 ½ years will be over and she will now no longer receive sick pay.
Pension insurance or employment office do not want to help.
Anastasios is self-employed with a hair salon. Not only the diagnosis, but also Corona put a spoke in his wheel to earn money. A loan was needed to pay the running costs.
Philippa 12 years, the little sister of Leandro, had to put back so much since then. Since March 2020, she has not been allowed to go to school for fear of bringing the virus home and infecting her weakened brother.
She is not allowed to meet friends. Mom and dad have very little time for her. Social contacts are already limited because of Corona, but in the Papouloglou family there is no such thing for safety reasons.
But Leandro does not want to give up!!! ❤He has a fighter's heart and above all dreams and goals, he wants to travel again, drive a car, find the first great love, just be a teenager... but actually just get healthy. ❤❤❤
That simply can't be it! Life hasn't really started yet...
