<div>Joseph (22) und Victoria (24) Oshakuade gehören zu Innsbruck.

<div>Vor über 8 Jahren kamen sie als unbegleitete Teenager aus Nigeria nach Tirol – er war 13, sie 15. Sie wuchsen im SOS-Kinderdorf auf, machten hier die Matura und verbrachten ihre gesamte Jugend in Österreich. Sie haben eine Tiroler Patenfamilie, die sie als ihre eigene bezeichnet.

<div>Heute studiert Joseph am MCI, Victoria absolviert eine IT-Ausbildung. Beide arbeiteten nebenher, inzwischen wurde Joseph dieses Recht genommen. Sie engagieren sich beide ehrenamtlich.

<div>Bei SKAID waren sie Teilnehmende und Helfende bei Veranstaltungen. Beim Chill-Snowboardprojekt sind sie inzwischen wesentlicher Bestandteil des Teams: Sie lieben die Tiroler Berge, übernehmen Verantwortung als Mentor:innen und arbeiten eng mit den Organisatorinnen zusammen. Sie tragen das Projekt mit.

<div>Nach einem negativen Asylbescheid läuft eine Beschwerde beim Verwaltungsgerichtshof. Die Ungewissheit belastet die beiden enorm. Ihr Umfeld steht geschlossen hinter ihnen - Mitstudierende, Zivilgesellschaft und Politik, darunter die ÖH, die Wissenschaftsministerin und wir als Projekte im sozialen Bereich. Rechtsberatung bestätigt: Die Voraussetzungen für ein humanitäres Bleiberecht sind erfüllt.
