Some of you here on Facebook are mutual friends with Helen, some are not. Let me tell you about my best friend...
Helen, in a nutshell, is the kindest, most generous woman I have the privelege of calling a friend. She is an only child, both parents passed away, she has no siblings no blood relatives, but her friends are truly her family and she treats them as such. Helen is married to Susan, and they had a beautiful wedding back in 2011 -they share a great life together. They, like most of us work hard for their money and rely on a joint income. As a couple, together they truly try to enjoy life to the fullest and have done so as long as I've known them. Helen and her great spirit is life itself to me!!
3 Months ago, Helen was diagnosed with an inoperable throat cancer, she has undergone 7 weeks of radiation therapy along with 7 weeks of chemotherapy. The prognosis is good. These treatments however, which by God's grace will save her life, have rendered Helen physcially incabable of working and this is why I am appealing to all of you on behalf of my bestie. Due to loss of wages, the bills, the rent, etc, have been piling up, Helen is considered a part time worker and is not paid for these weeks she has to take off to recover from the radation and chemo which although life saving, has wrecked havoc on her body. She cannot work and will be out of work for a little while and is in need of funds for the short term.
As her friend, I decided to do a fund for Helen, to ease the financial stress due to her illness so she can use her energy to focus on wellness and recovering. If I had it to give, I would, but instead I must ask all of you to please donate what you can (any bit will help) to make this time in her life a little easier. We all need help at one time or antoher and due to the kindness of friends and also strangers, we are carried through life's difficult times. I know I have been.
All proceeds less the small fee GoFundMe deducts will go directly to Helen. The funds will be used soley for living expenses.
