Helena was the “Guardian Angel” of many children. If you are adopted, have an adopted child or plan to adopt, you have to know that Helena protected children like you, or like yours!
Helena is an extraordinary person who dedicated her life to help abandoned kids in Colombia. That was her passion and mission in life. She was so dedicated and passionate that we use to call her “Mother Theresa”. Their sole purpose in life was to give those kids love and hope. Her dream was to see each child growing up happy, and teaching them how to enjoy life against all difficulties.
Four years ago, Helena was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer. After surgery and a year and a half in chemo everything seemed good and in process of recovery. However, in October 2016 she received the news that the cancer did metastasis. At that time the doctors suggested another big surgery and more chemo, but the surgery was going to be too invasive and the probabilities of recovering after were not the best. So, Helena decided to take a break from chemo and enjoyed life instead of spending it in hospitals. During those two years she had treatments in between alternative and traditional medicine to recover her strength.
Motivated for the possibility to continue sharing with her family, last year she agreed to try one more time a new chemotherapy. However this second chemo did not give her the desired response. So, she accepted a third chemo with a different mixes of medication. But, again it did not work. During the last treatment one of the tumors in her abdomen grew to the point that an emergency surgery was imminent. The surgery had complications and an internal bleeding almost stopped her life. It took her weeks in the hospital to recover.
Helena is a warrior, like all of those who fight every day against cancer, and an example of life, strength, persistence and above all an immense Faith.
After so much struggle, without such good results and without more alternatives in western medicine, Helena has decided to keep only complementary therapies and stay at home surrounded by family and friends, and enjoy day by day the miracle of living.
The complementary therapies that help Helenaare not covered by any health insurance, and after these four years the expenses fromhospitals, doctors, alternative treatments and others, are many.
We would like to invite you to help this beautiful angel to maintain her treatment and cover some of her expenses and debts, and with this give her the gift of peace, so she can enjoy the time with family.
