Helen Henthorn Memorial Scholarship

This is to establish the Helen Henthorn Memorial Scholarship Fund. Its purpose will be to provide financial support for one or more adult age students to attend a community college or other post-secondary educational institution. Its geographic focus will be concentrated on Monroe County, Ohio and Wetzel County, West Virginia, where Mrs. Henthorn was born and lived much of her life.

In 1980, Mrs. Henthorn, at the age of 45, enrolled in West Virginia Northern Community College, and two years later finished her Associates Degree in Nursing. Mrs. Henthorn applied her educational background and her natural bedside manner to provide comfort to thousands of patients and their families over decades of service.

Mrs. Henthorn passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017. This scholarship can contribute to her legacy of helping others with the help of advanced education.
