Help me Fund a World Changing Children's Book!

Over the past few years working in education and employment, I have become acutely aware of the power of literacy, its link to employment and opportunity - and the necessity of books being accessible to children from a young age. 

In April last year, I joined NABU's Next Gen Leadership Fund - a group of young professionals supporting NABU's mission to end global illiteracy by providing equitable access to early grade reading materials in mother tongue languages. NABU brings together a few things I am passionate about: employment, education and creativity.

To give back a little and acknowledge how grateful I am for my education, I am raising money to create a new children's book in the mother tongue language of Kinyarwanda for the millions of children living in Rwanda who are growing without access to books and stories in their lives. 

The $2,500 raised to create this book will support a local Rwandan author and illustrator in creating the book, which will be published for free on the NABU reading app. The NABU reading app is the fastest growing application in Rwanda and is reaching more than 90,000 children and their families every day.
