For Neil Bradford and family
If you live in the Greater Cincinnati Area and coached, played soccer, or had a child play soccer over the past 13 years you more than likely you have met Neil Bradford. Neil has been instrumental in coaching and player development for both recreational and select soccer players.
Neil came to us from “over the pond” from Gloucestershire, England. In 2001 Neil moved to the United States to work with Challenger Sports/British Soccer Camps and was/still is an active coach in the Cincinnati area. He later became the Director of Coaching for SAY soccer where he still leads coaching and player development. Since moving to Mason, Ohio Neil met and married Susan Whitt and have a beautiful daughter, Madison.
In March, 2010, the Bradford family received heartbreaking news. Neil was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Neil took it like he takes everything – a positive healthy attitude and we will beat this mentality . He received heavy radiation with oral chemo for 6 weeks, then surgery in Aug 2010 and after 18 days at the Cleveland clinic, he came home. He then endured chemo for another 5 months until Feb 2011. He bounced back quickly and was able to run, golf, play soccer and felt generally good again. He was given a clean bill of health in 2012.
Over the past several months Neil has not been feeling well with a lot of pain in his legs. After several medical visits it has been determined the cancer has returned.
He is now taking on this next challenge and we can help ease some of the financial burden his family will face throughout his procedures and the holiday season. Medical costs, gas, food- all add up quickly, so every little bit counts!
The Bradford’s have been a tremendous asset to our community and now is a great chance for us to give back and help support them in their toughest battle yet.
