Heidi's Need for Assistance

My story started in November of 2017.  All because of what started in my achilles and worked it's way up my leg.... 5 Emergency room visits, several urgent care clinic visits, several days of missing work through November and December, an MRI, couple of visits with an orthopedic surgeon... and then January 8th 2018 came.  Shortly after my 40th birthday, I was hospitalized for a week and found out that I was diagnosed with mynecrosis of the leg.  I focused on the word NECROSIS... death. Due to poor circulation, my leg was not receiving enough blood and oxygen. The best (NOT) part of this, I also have Type 1 Diabetes.  Because of the diabetes, this circulation issue turned into a pretty big problem.  The good news was that I was told with controlled diabetes and bed rest and physical therapy I can stop the necrosis, but I will never fully recover from the damage that is done.  The worst case scenario if not following treatment plan is that I can lose my leg.  That's right... amputation. Full leg.  Anyone who knows me, knows that this will NEVER be an option.

So, after being hospitalized for almost a week, I finally was released to go home.  Follow up with the doctor and get a treatment plan going.  Knowing this may take some time.  The pain was the most horrible pain I have ever experienced.  I couldn't walk.  I couldn't sit. I couldn't stand.  I had to rely on people to help me. To take time out of their busy schedules to help me.  I followed up with my doctor and was told that I would not be released to work at least until I was re-evaluated on Jan. 31st. Gave this information to my employer.  Received texts from my colleagues wishing me well.  Started physical therapy and am slowly walking!  I can now sit upright for an hour or a little more before being in massive pain.

So today I followed up with the doctor.  While I am slowly improving, I was not released back to work until 2/28 and then again I would have to be re-evaluated.

My heart sank. I missed being at work. I missed my co-workers.  I went to my office to give the news, and within 5 minutes of being there, an email was sent that I was no longer an employee.  My job was terminated.

To add salt to the wound, I haven't had an income since the beginning of January.  I have had to borrow for bills, rent, groceries, basically for everyday living.

February is here, and am feeling the pressure because I know I can't cover my share of bills and expenses.  I have filed for unemployment, however they said it can take a few weeks for processing.

So, here I am with a humble and humiliated heart asking for help.  This is the hardest part for me to do because I have tried to be an independent person.  If there is anyway I can repay anyone by assistance in anyway, I will.  I have no words to express how grateful I am for help that I have already received. I thank you for your time in reading this.
