<div>On Saturday, August 17th, tragedy struck while our dear friend and classmate Heidi Poe Heil  was camping with her husband and young son. (Nick and Merrick) A sudden storm rolled in, and lightning struck a tree near their tent. The tree came crashing down, pinning Heidi beneath it for nearly an hour.

<div>She suffered a severely broken femur on her right leg and a large injury to her right arm, leaving a significant portion of muscle and flesh damaged. Her road to recovery will be long and painful, but if you know Heidi, you know she is a fighter.

<div>Heidi has devoted her life to the Lord and to helping others. She works as an ENL (English as a New Language) teacher, pouring her heart into guiding and supporting her students and their families. She has touched countless lives through her kindness, faith, and service — and now, she and her family need our help.

<div>Between medical bills, recovery needs, and time away from work, the financial burden will be heavy. This fundraiser is a way for us to rally around Heidi, Nick, and Merrick in this time of crisis. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly to helping them cover medical costs, living expenses, and the support they’ll need as Heidi heals.
