Robin’s final request includes donations

toward efforts in the care of his loving brother, Joel Hale.

 

Robin is taking his final curtain call as the very rare cancer, Merkel Cell Carcinoma, has done its bidding on his earthly body. As we wait and stare in awe at Robin’s unwavering bravery, our hearts are saddened at this monumental loss for us all. His love, compassion and dedication to the arts and people in our community are extensive. I dare say that he has not only touched all of our lives, but has changed us in meaningful ways. We will feel his absence for a very long time. Some of you may not know that Robin has a brother who was born with Cerebral Palsy. Robin has been tending to Joel for the past 8 years. Robin’s hope is that his legacy will include all of us coming together to make sure Joel has his needs met. Robin and Joel’s brother and sister-in-law have graciously moved into the family home to care for Joel. We are asking for donations to help modify the home with wheelchair ramps and equipment to help with lifting Joel in and out of bed 3 times a day as well as for bathing and daily care. Joel requires 24 hour care and Robin has been that steady presence. He now leaves this care to Jimmy and Debbie, but as we all know, age plays a factor in caring for those who need us. These modifications will allow Jimmy and Debbie to give proper care to one of the kindest souls we will ever know. Our hope and plea is that we make Robin’s heart rest easy as he leaves the stage. Please help us offer this assurance to Robin and ease Joel’s tremendous pain of the loss of his dear brother and friend. I write this with so much gratitude to all in this beautiful community who love Robin and Joel. It is so rare that Robin makes a request of anyone and this very special request is simply for the love of Joel.
