Our friend, Hector Manuel Elias suffered a terrible accident on June 7th, 2021 when his stove exploded right in front of him just as he was making dinner. He was immediately rushed to the nearest Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico but the severity of his injuries lead him to be transferred to a specialized burn center un San Diego, California. As Hector arrived to the burn center, the doctors confirmed the severity of his injuries, ranging from second to third degree burns all over his body.
Hector is currently in intensive care and his family is unable to see him as there is an extremely high risk for infection. Due to the aggressive nature of his injuries, Hector's doctors have anticipated for him to stay in the burn center for at least the next three months. Hector has so far received one extensive surgery, has two more scheduled for the next few days, and more to come after that. Not to mention the extensive physical therapy Hector will have to undergo after his release.
If you know Hector, you know that he has the kindest heart. He is always there to support his family and friends, loves to read, and adores spending time with his two baby kittens. Him and his family are beloved members of the community, and they need all the help we can give them right now.
We are are asking for any help as this family endures every parents and sibling's worst nightmare. We have created this fund to be able to pay for all the associated medical costs that will incur due to a 3 month hospital stay, life saving medications, treatments and surgeries.
