Update: please stop donating.
The CT scan and new tests showed she did not need an operation after all because the kidney is working again so it has been cancelled and she is back home! I ll contact everybody regarding their donation tomorrow. What an emotional roller coaster but with the best possible outcome at the end. I am smiling like a lunatic.
As most of you know, HeCate, my two year old cat, was in hospital all week last week due to acute kidney failure. The vets established she has one kidney much smaller then the other and the ureter from her good kidney to the bladder is partially obstructed. Because I was too stupid and foolish to take insurance, having never needed one for my previous cats even if they lived to a long age, I have to pay it all myself. I already paid £1,500 for the hospital stay. Now she needs an operation because she will die if the stone continues to obstruct. She is back home in between. She is now on a special diet and I will take insurance if she survives the operation but anything relating to bladder or kidneys will never be covered by any insurance in the future. The operation date has been fixed to Monday 23 November and it is more expensive than originally thought, closer to £5.0K. They will run tests and if it still shows sign of the pocket of liquid in the kidney, they will implement an SUB device in order to bypass the ureter on the right kidney. As her left kidney is underdeveloped already, she needs one functional kidney if she is to survive. The SUB outcomes are much better than putting a stent in but she will need the device flushed every three months for the rest of her life at £259 a pop. As several people asked me to create the go fund me, here I am, feeling very stupid and foolish. I am trying to get credit cards approved or a loan. Guy, really , get the insurance as soon as you get them, don't do like me thinking they are not likely to have anything so young as they stay indoor. I really bitterly regret that now
If you donate, if you put your name in, I will give you the money back if she dies before the operation or donate to an animal shelter charity. If you give anonymously, in the case she dies before, it will go to an animal shelter charity.
