A place where children can be children
Hi my name is Ki-esha Ellis, l'am a mother of 3 beautiful children. I'am also a creative mompreneur and certified child daycare manager who created and operated my own home based daycare to serve the families of my local community for 8 years. l closed down my daycare, because l began to feel an internal pull towards following my dreams of creating a foundation that served humanity through services that inspired, authenticity, passion and purpose; From a higher state of consciousness. Or in other words " woke stuff for woke people" .
So with $1, a big dream and a whole lot of faith, l founded Lightgroup and Lightgroup's school of higher consciousness.
Through my foundation l'am able to share my natural ability to help others balance their energy with the gentle healing modality reiki. I'm able to inspire others to follow their higher calling and create their dreams in practical ways with online courses. And l can serve my local community on a bigger scale with childcare programs that accommodate a larger number of youth.
That is why l started this go fund me.
This past summer l organized a summer camp to keep the youth in my area busy and out of trouble. And although l had a decent turn out. I did not have as many children in the program as l had hoped for.
The reason for this, the area that l operate my childcare programs in, is a low income area. And most parents just really can't afford to send their children to programs. I believe when it comes to children, money should not be a deciding factor when encouraging your child/children to explore their passions. But as a parent myself, l know that 98% of the time, the fee for a particular youth program can either make or break the deal.
A few months ago a young man I knew was shot and killed in this area. This made me very sad and upset ,because they are so young, you know. And maybe if they were shown a different environment they would know that they have options. They can choose who they want to be. By being aware of your thoughts, words and actions.
Lightgroup is about inspiring children to be their best self . That is why l decided to organize an after school program to serve the families in my community for FREE.
This way youth have a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment to hangout, do homework, make new friends and all that good stuff.
My intention is to run the after school program for 12 months, but we all know everything cost money. The goal is to raise $7000 to cover the operating cost e.g. supplies, snacks, trips, etc.
My desire is to use Lightgroup's after school program as a catalyst to inspire, encourage, and teach our children that anything is possible, when its coming from a space of love and light.
So I'am humbly asking for your help. Co-create with me a place where our children can just be children. Mine craft playing, watching anime on your cell phone,tryna sneak a third slice of pizza, child. Not a, I want to fit in wanna be gangster, that thinks getting high instead of going to school is lit. Or a 12 year old girl that thinks if she sends him a picture of her breasts he'll like her.
We are responsible for teaching them how to make wise choices and good decisions for them self. I just believe this is a good place to start.
