WE LOVE YOU THOR!

So our precious Thor had a bladder infection which turned out to be stones in his bladder. One day he went outside and I noticed there was no pee coming out when he was trying to go to the bathroom, we took him to our vet and sure enough a stone was blocking the pee from coming out. (Let me tell you that bulldogs are the hardest breed to do surgery on because of there scrunched airways. They may take surgery fine but waking them up out of anesthesia is the hardest part because they have a flap of skin that runs down the back of there throats that swells and cuts off air.) with that being known how risky it is our vet told us they could not do such a invasive surgery on him. So we took him to a specialist vet in CT, where they have been taking very good care of him for almost a week now. We started out with having a surgery to remove the stones and neuter him to help prevent this reaccuring in the future. The vet said we also have to have his airway widened along with his nasal airways widened to increase his chance of surviving coming out of anesthesia. So they went ahead and did the surgery fine and trying to wake him up out of anesthesia has been such a struggle that we had to make the hard decision to put him back into surgery to put a tracheotomy in so his airway can have some time to heal and not swell up and cut off his air. This has been one of the hardest times on my family so far. Our 3 year old son is sooo attached to him and asks for him everyday! As a mom that makes this situation sooo much harder. Our dog is the best buddy a mom can ask for a child to have! It breaks my heart to have to explain every morning to my son that the Dr.'s are doing there best for Thor to be strong enough to come home and play with you! We are just asking for what ever help possible. Our expectations for the price were in the end doubled what we were prepared to pay for. We love him so much and have come so far to just give up because of money.
