Heating Fundraising Support for Sharron Zapor

Sharron Zapor, a Burrillville resident, is a US Women's Army Corp Vietnam Veteran. She ordered Kerosene oil from Robert's Energy in Springfield, MA. They delivered a full tank of oil (not the ordered Kerosene) on Wednesday, December 18th. The system stopped working that same evening. When Sharron called Robert's they sent a technician out to pump the tank and refill with Kerosene. They also confirmed the system is a fire hazard and needs to be replaced. They then told her that it was her fault the system needed replacement that it had not had regular service.

Sharron is an elderly veteran on a fixed income. The kerosene fill was a gift from a family friend. This company left her with no working furnace and no heat in <20 degree temps the week before Christmas.

Sharron was honored as a Veteran of the year in 2016 for her work in the RI Veteran community and was invited to take the 2019 RI Female Honor flight trip for veterans of the state.

We are working with the Better Business Bureau of Massachusetts to try and gain support from the offending company to fix the furnace and also seeking support from elderly and veterans agencies but all of this is taking time and Sharron has been without heat in frigid temperatures for close to a month. 

We are working to raise funds to support the replacement of the furnace so Sharron will have heat this winter.
