Heather's Medical Fund

Heather has been having severe headaches for some time now, and the pain had progressed to a point that no pain meds were effective. She had an episode where she went numb on her whole left side of her body that lasted for 20-30 minutes. She also is experiencing a lot of pressure behind her eyes. The doctor that had been working with her advised to go to the eye doctor who saw that her optical nerves were swollen and she had had a hemorrhage behind her left eye. In short order Heather received an MRI, which showed a tumor the size of a small orange, and she was told that her symptoms were seizures. They were able to schedule her surgery to remove the tumor on May 12. The surgery should take 6-8 hours and she will be in the hospital to recover for 3-4 days and off work for 4-6 weeks.
There is a 90% chance the tumor is benign. Let's be in prayer for that to be the case.
This is a Meningioma Tumor, which grows on the membrane around the brain.
Heather and her family are very thankful to have an excellent sought-after brain surgeon that is close, and will be performing the surgery.

Most likely Heather has had this tumor for a very long time, possibly from birth or early childhood. It is very slow growing, but the size has now become too much for her brain.
