Heather's Tubbs Fire House Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Heather Williams. On October 9, 2017 at 3am my home of 10 years was claimed and incinerated by the Tubbs Fire in the Coffey Park neighborhood of Santa Rosa, CA. I was able to get out of my home at 2:45 in the morning with just my phone, a bag of clothes, and my pet cat, Mowgli. We safely made it to Rohnert Park by 3:30 where family and friends graciously took us in as we waited to hear if we would have a home to return to in the morning. By sunrise, I had learned that my neighborhood was no longer standing.

My roommate, Allison, and I have lost everything. Because we were renters, we have $0 from insurance to help us begin rebuilding our lives. All our belongings, essentials, and memories are obliterated by this tragedy. We are now faced with the uncertainty of finding somewhere to live and relying on the support of family and friends just to eat, shower, and get by.

Words cannot express the shock, and sense of loss, we have had to process in the past 48 hours. Any help would be so appreciated as we try to find the path to our new normal. We thank you in advance for your generosity as we try to get back on our feet.
