Heather's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
Heather Cadorette is one of the smartest, kindest, most genuinely good souls I've ever known. She is a daughter, a sister, a wife, an aunt, and a friend to many. She is an animal lover, an avid gardener (and award winning salsa maker!), and a former Biology teacher.  She was even named “Teacher of the Year,” before having to give up the profession. Heather actively serves at her church, loves with all she has, and radiates light and goodness.

12 years ago, Heather began to experience symptoms that were unusual and scary-- forgetfulness, fogginess, and episodes that could be classified as seizures, to name a few. Keen diagnostics from one of the best neurology teams in the country revealed an Epidermoid tumor on the surface of her brain. Although these types of tumors are present from birth and considered benign,  as it grew, it caused increased pressure on Heather's brain, resulting in an array of symptoms. She was losing a little bit of normal function each day. The surgery, called an Orbital-Zygo-Cranial-Osteotomy, was eminent.

The first surgery to remove the tumor  was successful, but left behind small bits of the mass that could not safely be removed. We knew we'd be back here again some day, but noone knew exactly how soon. The answer was 12 years later... so here we are. Headed for OZCO # 2.

Heather and her husband, Drew, have kept such positive spirits and are hopeful this surgery will again be successful. Heather's family and friends are asking that you consider donating to this fund to help with ongoing medical and recovery expenses while Heather stays in the hospital for a currently undetermined amount of time. Her family (some from out of state) will be by her side and will need help as well. If you also would like to send gift-cards for meals for Heather's family, contact me directly and I can help get the gifts to them.

This is only a piece of Heather's story. She is such a bright light. And she is so, so loved. Thank you so much for considering a donation and/or sharing this fund to your social media platforms.

Love always--
