When Heather was 15 she had her first surgery for endometriosis. She later had her two beautiful daughters. But each pregnancy was very difficult, and she decided after Kennedy was born to have her tubes tied. A year ago (2021), doctors found a fibroid that would need to be looked at. BUT she ended up needing to have a spinal fusion and that put everything else on hold.
Four weeks ago, Heather started having pains in her lower abdomen. She thought it was just a cyst and finally went to the doctor to get checked out. The doctor informed her that her uterus was enlarged and she had a large fibroid. Because of this, she needs a total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Due to her history with also having Melanoma, ovarian cysts and endometriosis, they felt it was best to take everything.
Due to scheduling, the soonest she was scheduled to have surgery was Halloween. However, day by day her pain has increased, and loss of blood has become worse. And her doctor doesn't feel that she can wait another month. They were able to find an opening and schedule her surgery for this Monday, October 3rd at 7:00am.
Since her surgery is just days away, and she will have to be off work for six weeks, she doesn't have much time, and worries about just keeping up with her monthly bills. Since having had back-to-back surgeries this past year already, she is out of her paid time off. She isn't asking for much, just a little help until she is able to get back to work. Anything you are able to donate to help my amazing friend would be greatly appreciated.
