Hi, my name is Heather. Today is my birthday. But more importantly, my gallbladder is evil and must be terminated with extreme prejudice!
I'd love to have a glass of wine and a slice of cake for my birthday but, sadly, neither one is permitted on my gallbladder diet. I also can't have: eggs, pork, onion, cabbage, cauliflower, legumes, fowl, full-fat milk, chocolate, ice cream, coffee, black tea, alcohol, soft drinks, grapefruit, oranges, corn, nuts, white flower, artificial sweeteners, red meat, fried food, or anything else that makes life worth living.
However, I'm only halfway to my $1,000 deductible and I can't afford the 20% co-insurance for either my ER visit last week or my eventual cholecystectomy (that's a fancy word that means surgical gallbladder removal). Estimating each at around $5,000 (using healthcarebluebook.com) that means I still need $500 for my deductible, $1,000 for my ER bill, and $1,000 for my surgery.
Besides: do you have any idea how badly gallstones HURT? My attacks have been increasing lately in frequency and intensity. The last one this past Monday lasted nearly 24 hours and the pain was so intense I felt like I was being eaten from the inside out.
I don't smoke or do drugs: delicious food and fine wine are the only vices I have left! Won't you please help me raise the funds to have my gallbladder removed so that by next year, on my 30th birthday, I will no longer be in terrible pain and worse: forced to eat rabbit food for the rest of my life???
