Hearts for the Troops

I am a Proud Navy mom and in 2017, I started a small fundraiser to send 100 care packages to men and women serving overseas. With that goal in mind, I was suprised at the donations and with the help of the community was able to send over 120 care packages. For 2019 the goals are set including 300 individual Valentines goodie bags and more stockings. To start the 2019 project I was advise to create a GoFundMe account to help with the shipping cost.


Questions Asked:

Do you get paid? NO! Last year I actually spent over $300 of my own mine to make sure this project was a success. All monies collected go straight into the project. Last year we actually were successful with our goal of raising funds with a Zumabthon and that is why we were able to send out additional 20 care packages.

Where do the packages go? The packages will be shipped to men and women serving overseas. This year, all packages are going to one ship. Anything over the 300, will be going to another base already picked out.

When is the last day to donate? The care packages need at least 3-4 weeks to ship. So, the care packages will be going out at the end of November (2018). All donations will need to be in by November 1st to ensure I have enough time to purchase items,  stuff stockings, pack and label boxes.

Have you done other fundraisers? Yes! With the help of a fellow military mom, we were able to do our second annual Zumbathon and raise $500 to go towards the $1500 in shipping cost. 

This project will take a village to complete.
