Hearts For Mia❤️

This past weekend, my beautiful, wonderful, heaven sent niece Mia Rose was admitted to Boston Children's Hospital in Heart Failure. Due to infections, she had to wait until Tuesday before they could operate. On Tuesday morning, Mia underwent her fourth open heart surgery. Wednesday, her numbers were dropping, and another echocardiogram revealed an obstruction blocking blood to the new valve. Early Thursday morning, Mia underwent yet another open heart surgery. Four years old, five open heart surgeries, two of them in one week. Due to the circumstances, a pacemaker was chosen at this time as her best option. Thursday night, following her surgery, was the best I have seen her all week. The color was returning. She will be sedated and chemically paralyzed for a couple more days so her body can start the healing process. Mia will be in ICU for at least 5 more days, then will remain in recovery for a few weeks. Rosemary, my sister (and Mia's mother), is and will be on unpaid family leave from work while she stays down in Boston. Once Mia leaves ICU, Rosemary will lose her sleep space provided to her by the hospital and will have to start providing her own accommodations. As she is out of work, costs will accumulate and paying them will be difficult. Donations are always GREATLY appreciated, and we will be selling Hearts For Mia NH Unicorns shirts! All proceeds will be going directly to support Mia and Rosemary in these difficult times. Also, we will be gifting 20% of all proceeds from any Unicorn Photoshoots booked for the next two months! Continuing after this two months, we will start contributing 10% of all proceeds from any events through NH Unicorns to the Children's Heart Foundation. Please consider donating or purchasing a Hearts For Mia NH Unicorns shirt to help get us through these tough times! Please contact me (Deanna Levesque on Facebook, NH Unicorns on Facebook or www.NHUnicorns.com) for personal donations or for T Shirt ordering, I will plan the first order to be in two weeks, to try to get as many orders in as we can! Thank you for your consideration and for any prayers as our precious baby girl starts her journey to healing

Mia Rose Demers was born July 16, 2013, with Aortic Coarctation. She had her first Open Heart Surgery at only 6 days old, weighing in a whopping 4.1lbs. She completed 3 Open Heart Surgerys by the time she was 2 years old. She was the worlds 5th recipient of the Melody Valve when she first underwent Open Heart Surgery. Although it didn't last as long as we hoped, she got two decent years out of it. We hope that with her new Mechanical Valve and pacemaker that Mia can go on to live a mostly normal life, and will hopefully have a few surgery free years. Thank you for your time, love, prayers, and donations.
